Story
Fundraising in someones memory is a truly special way to mark their life while helping others in need at the same time. This May, we are inviting you to join Rainbows and the Lewis Sewell Memorial Trust in celebrating the life of talented young actor, Lewis Sewell by taking part in Walk for Lewis 18 miles for 18 years.
Between Monday 24th May and Friday 28th May, we are asking you to complete the distance of 18 miles 1 mile for each year of Lewis life. It is completely up to you how you do this; maybe a couple of miles a day or the whole distance in one go. You can do this with family, friends, colleagues or on your own.
Lewis Sewell from Castle Donington was diagnosed with a rare cancer on 5th February 2020. Before his terminal diagnosis, he was preparing to audition for drama school, and he saw how difficult it is for young people to access opportunities available in the arts industry. He came up with the idea of establishing a fund to support aspiring actors and set out the criteria himself for the awards.
By taking part in Walk for Lewis: 18 miles for 18 years, your donation will be divided equally between Rainbows and the Lewis Sewell Memorial Trust. This will help support young people in the arts industry and allow Rainbows to continue to offer bereavement support to families like Lewis.
However, you choose to complete Walk for Lewis, please follow the latest Covid-19 guidelines.
