** The Satya Ram Challenge **
FIVE CHARITIES CHALLENGE
We all know how it feels to have unfinished business. That niggle inside, telling you to complete something important that's been left undone. Unfinished business needs to be dealt with.
That's why, this September, I'm going to be trekking to Everest Base Camp for the second time via Goyko Lake, Kalapathar and Island Peak to reach my goal of conquering a 6000m+ mountain.
I might be 65 years old this year, but instead of sitting back and taking it easy I'm going to get up that mountain. I didn't make it up to Mera Peak at 6200m in 2018, so before I have to hang up my boots once and for all, I'm going again to get it done!
And I'm more determined than ever.
Why do the challenge?
For myself, but also in memory of family members and loved ones in particular for my dad, Ram Parkash and my mum, Satya Vati. This challenge is named after them.
My mum was the most generous-spirited, kind and hospitable person you could ever meet and my dad was well known for helping many relatives and friends. I want to help their legacy live on by raising money for five fantastic charities. They are all charities that I know first-hand, that have touched my life in some way and have done so for many other people .

Menphys - https://menphys.org.uk/
Alex's Wish - https://alexswish.co.uk/
Helping Hands - https://www.helpinghandsadvice.co.uk/
Together Against Cancer - https://www.togetheragainstcancer.org.uk/
I'm putting in my own funds to get to Everest and will split all the money I raise equally between these charities.
I'd love you to join me on this adventure.
I know that not everyone gets to board the plane or climb the peak but I'd still love you to come along in the following ways:
* Follow along on social media. Starting from now, Ill be posting regular updates on my LinkedIn and Instagram pages, sharing everything I'm doing in preparation for the trip. Once I arrive, you'll be able to see exactly where I go and what its like.
* Donate here on my Just Giving page. I'm planning to raise £5,000 and am so grateful for any donation you can make. Dont forget to Gift Aid your donation if youre eligible.
My training has already started with some 5K park runs but there's a long way to go. I appreciate every bit of your support - it's time to deal with unfinished business!
Thank you in advance,
Vijay
