Story
Since opening our first premises in 2019, the Vagina Museum received over 120,000 visitors to our exhibitions "Muff Busters: Vagina Myths and How to Fight Them" and "Periods: A Brief History". In September 2021, we moved out of our first home, and are in search of a new premises to continue our ground-breaking, taboo-busting educational work.
As well as bringing our free-to-enter exhibitions back to the world, we want to launch a programme of outreach to schools. We've received a lot of feedback from adults who expressed they wish they'd learned more about vaginas, vulvas and the gynaecological anatomy in school, as well as young people who have found our exhibitions valuable. Our outreach programme will include lesson plans and a learning resource based on our exhibition "Periods: A Brief History", examining menstrual beliefs and taboos through the ages and how they continue to affect us to this day.
Members of the Vagina Museum have contributed to a matching pot - the Cliterati Furry Cup. The first £1,150 donated to this appeal will be doubled by the Furry Cup.
