Story
On July 26, 2021, Union Terrace Elementary School suffered a tragic fire. Four portable classrooms and one piece of playground equipment were destroyed. The current playground equipment is over 25 years old and has become a safety hazard for young students. Many pieces are damaged and worn to the extent that students are not permitted on them for safety reasons. Union Terrace Elementary School, with the support and collaboration of St. Luke's University Health Network, has begun the process of raising funds for new equipment.
A new playground would provide students the opportunities for social, emotional and physical growth and development. This is an exciting project that will benefit future Union Terrace students and provide a safe and engaging environment for the school community for years to come!
