Story
The Ukrainian Institute London needs your support for exciting new projects in 2021!
The Institute is 100% funded by donations and events income. We rely fully on those who appreciate our work to help us keep going! Please help us get the new year off to a flying start!
We hope to raise £5,000 for our projects for the year ahead:
>> £3,000 towards a new website, to be developed by Ukrainian veterans:
- We need to overhaul our online capabilities as we go virtual with many more events and expand our digital projects and resources. (The full amount for the new website is £5,000).
We're also proud to be working with 'Veteranius' on our new website - an initiative assisting Ukrainian veterans and internally displaced persons to learn and gain work experience in IT. So by supporting our new website you will also be supporting Ukrainian veterans to gain new professional skills. Find out more here: https://razomforukraine.org/projects/veteranius/

>> £500 for Translation Prize.
This new annual prize will be launched in 2021. It will go to translations of Ukrainian short prose and poetry into English, as part of our effort to spread the word about Ukrainian culture in the UK and beyond. This years translation competition will focus on Lesia Ukrainkas work to mark the 150th anniversary of her birth. (The full amount for running the translation prize is £2,500; £500 is the prize that will go to the winning translator).
>> £1,500 towards Ukrainian Film Festival 2021.
We hope you enjoyed our online film festival this year organised in partnership with Cambridge Ukrainian Studies. Almost 1,000 people registered to watch the films we chose for you and screened for free. Were keen to promote Ukrainian cinema by running a film festival every year in person or online. (The costs for our film festivals amount to around £5,000, so were hoping to raise £1,500 towards the total, enough to cover the rights to four films).
