Story
Springfest, created by Howard University's Undergraduate Student Assembly (UGSA) is an annual weeklong series of events that welcomes the change of the season and celebrates, promotes, and acknowledges the students of Howard University. With the students' needs and wants at the forefront, all events from conception to execution are organized by current undergraduate students. This year's event will include several events focused on inclusiveness, business, and culture. Leading into our 15th year, the goal is to create, improve, and expand upon the Springfest experience for not only the Howard community but the greater Washington DC community. UGSA is currently fundraising for our 2023 Springfest, this year we have the opportunity to make it bigger and better than ever. We ask that if you can, please donate to help create an amazing opportunity for students.
UGSA 49 is excited to put on this year's Springfest. UGSA currently receives a semesterly allocation from the student activity fee. Our current allocation is roughly around 1/8th of the money needed to execute Springfest. Our allocation of funds has not increased since before the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to the pandemic, costs have more than doubled from what they were originally. This year we want to make sure that Springfest is accessible to as many students as possible. The week will consist of 5 events including Yard Talk, Talent Showcase, Truth and Service Charity Basketball Game, Black Women Empowerment Summit, Cultural Extravaganza, and our Couture Exposition. We are asking that if you can, please donate to help create a safe and enjoyable experience for Howard University Springfest 2023.
