Montclair Bikery will hold its 10th Annual Turkey Ride Sunday, November 20th, to collect turkeys for the Human Needs Food Pantry. In 2022, inflation caused many working adults, families, and seniors to seek out services from the Pantry for the first time. Their incomes were simply not enough to cover the high costs for food, housing, and transportation.

We are proud to be in our 10th year in supporting the Pantry in it's mission to support food insecure individuals in Montclair, Bloomfield, and in other Essex County communities. This is an extra special year as the Pantry also celebrated its 40th anniversary. Together, let's make this holiday a special one for everyone in our community!

The 15 mile bike ride will take place Sunday morning, November 20, 2022 at 10 am. Registration opens at 9 am. Pre-registration is highly encouraged here: Turkey Ride Registration

The Turkey Ride will leave from the Montclair Bikery (148 Valley Road, Montclair). Cyclists will ride a circular route from there to the Brookdale Shoprite (1409 Broad Street, Bloomfield). Riders will buy a frozen turkey, and then carry it in their backpacks to the Human Needs Food Pantry (9 Label Street, Montclair) for drop off. For those who want to buy more than one turkey, there are vans that will take the extras back to the Pantry. A festive thank you party for the Turkey Ride participants takes place at Egans restaurant next to the Pantry after the turkeys are dropped off.

Anyone 18 and older can participate in the Turkey Ride. Riders between the ages of 13 and 17 can participate with an accompanying adult. Bicycles, tandems, electric bikes and unicycles are all allowed!

This fundraising page allows anyone to donate to the event. All proceeds will be used to purchase turkeys and all of the necessary side dishes for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. A $20 donation funds one turkey, $40 donation funds two turkeys, and a $60 donation funds three turkeys! Our goal is to collect 600 turkeys this year!

Community members can drop off frozen turkeys at the Human Needs Food Pantry on Sunday, November 20th. We are also collecting other Thanksgiving foods, including instant mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, pie crust mix and filling!
