Story
Our education system is failing our children, yet the opportunity to make a genuine change lies right at our fingertips. How can it be that teaching numeracy and literacy is compulsory, yet it remains optional to teach our children resilience, empathy, and how to value each other?
Our mission
We believe that every child, in every school, in every country, has the right to positive life outcomes.
Think Equal tackles the root cause of inequality with a vaccination against discrimination and anti-social behaviours in the form of social and emotional learning (SEL). We have developed an evidence-based early year curriculum that uproots deep-seated negative mindsets and attitudes. By teaching all children social-emotional life skills, including empathy, equality and respect, we help them access positive life outcomes all the way into adulthood.
The opportunity
To date, Think Equal has reached over 129,000 children in 16 countries. This includes 25,000 children just in Rajasthan.
The State Government of Rajasthan has witnessed our transformative programme and has requested us to expand our reach statewide, to 525,000 children in 15,000 early year settings.
How can I help?
Collectively, by donating just £2 (200 rupees) to our #SELForIndia campaign, we can reach 25,000 children with the Think Equal programme.
Your generosity will fund the printing of our Social and Emotional Learning resources as well as the training and support of our teachers. That is, everything required to nurture wellbeing and positive life outcomes for these children.
The Think Equal Process
Think Equal's impact is both immediate and long-term. We tackle prejudice before it becomes rooted in a child's character. It takes just one year for us to co-construct lasting pro-social neuro-pathways in the child's developing brain. These life skills and competencies then follow every child up into adulthood!
Yes -- it really works! You can hear it from Think Equal teachers:
They show solidarity and offer help now. They congratulate each other when they achieve a goal. They understand how to be active and to help, not only to be a spectator. For example, they say: We can help our friend who feels sad by hugging them and asking how they are " - Teacher at Bombay Cambridge International School, Mumbai, India.
[Think Equal] has taught kindness for others - Teacher, A.A. Dhamot
Help us prevent the mental health pandemic by donating to our campaign today. Together, we can empower change through the missing piece in education.
This transformation for our children's education starts in India and, with your help, will spread across the globe.
