Story
Like theatres all over the country, we've had to close our doors since 17 March. As a charity we have to raise £8 of every £10 we spend, so this situation has hit us particularly hard and we've had to make some very difficult decisions, reducing our team as a result and cancelling all programmed shows for the rest of the year.
We've been running for 21 years now: 21 years of creating home-grown theatre, 21 years of local groups and societies performing on our stages, 21 years of joy and laughter and providing a space where people can share something special together.
For our theatre to survive this crisis we are reaching out to our audiences and community to help us at this time and ensure the venue you know and love can reopen in 2021.
Over the next few months we'll be working on our appeal: we will need considerable sums to reopen, recruit a bigger team again and invest in the infrastructure we need to mount shows. If you would like to find out more about this campaign, get involved to support it as an advocate (spreading the word), or if you would like to speak to us about your donation visit theatrebythelake.com/donate
With your support, the show WILL go on.
"I particularly love the Keswick theatre. It has my complete support now and into the future". Judi Dench
Thank you so much for helping to safeguard the future of Theatre by the Lake. We can't wait to welcome you back to enjoy more wonderful theatre with us; until then, stay safe and well.
