Story
In response to COVID-19, and to help the NHS in their fight, we have increased the number of end of life patients we care for.
At this uncertain time, we are doing everything we can to make sure our care continues and we can support people.
As you will understand, the demand for our services is incredibly high and we expect that to continue as other parts of the NHS refocusto cope with Coronavirus.
Right now, our nurses are stepping forward, ready to do whatever it takes to ensure those staying with us, some of the most vulnerable people in our community, continue to receive the highest quality, compassionate care and support.
But many other parts of our hospice are changing. Following the guidance from the government we have closed all 11 of our charity shops and we have had to cancel all fundraising events for the foreseeable future.
Whilst we can postpone our events, we can't postpone the need to deliver our care. We want to make sure people with terminal illnesses still get the care they need, so nobody dies scared and in pain.
Despite our fundraising efforts and the recent announcement from the Government, we are still estimating a fundraising shortfall of over £200,000 in the next 3 months.
We are truly humbled by the urge people have to help each other at this time. From the safety of your home, you can continue to support local people.
We really need your help. Please give what you can today. Thank you.
