Story
As the temperatures drop this winter, our thoughts are turning to those with no respite from the cold, no warm food, and no bed to sleep in. This year more people are being driven from their homes by the cost of living crisis on to the streets to face the harshest weather.
Over the last seven years, Tabor House has offered those living on the streets of Birmingham the support too change their lives. We have supported over 70 men and women, who were sleeping rough on the streets of Birmingham into their own home and into work.
We have seen first hand the need for increased support for homeless people. This includes the need for:
- more beds, offering a safe place to sleep to more people
- local interim accommodation, giving our guests the time and support to find a home and become fully independent
- support through activities to engage people who are homeless.
We are working with St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in the heart of Birmingham to provide a new home for our work with homeless people. We are taking the opportunity to bring all our services together under the name Tabor Living.
We held our official opening at our new home of St Catherine of Siena in April 2023 but we need your support to help to provide the care and support that our guests need as they work to make a permanent change to their lives. Your donations will enable our skilled and experienced staff to provide activities, food, and specialist support to overcome the challenges in their lives, focusing on their unique strengths as they move forward.
Winter is an especially challenging time for those living on the streets of Birmingham. Thank you for supporting the vital work of Tabor Living.
