Story
After an isolating and difficult year for many older people in York, Age UK York is determined that no one should have no one. It has been a difficult year for us as we have been hit by the pandemic and the subsequent downturn in finances. At the same time, demand for our services has never been higher and we continue to be the first port of call for older people, their families and carers when they are looking for support and advice in York.
At Christmas, we ensured that older people who were lonely at home, and unable to see family or friends were not forgotten. We played our part to ensure that they were not socially isolated.
However, Age UK York is needed all year round to help support older people. We provide a range of services including carer respite, befriending, information and advice and provide valuable support after a stay in hospital. We have been there for the older people of York since 1971 and aim to be here for much longer. We can't do this without the support of the people of York. Your donation and support will go a long way towards helping us continue to provide support.
Thank you.
