We have come up with an alternative Summer League this year which involves all club members tracking their Runs, Cycles and Walks whilst raising valuable funds for the club with half of all funds raised being donated to Havens Hospices.
Euro 2020 Football Championships was due to start on Friday 12th June and the Final was going to take place on Sunday 12th July but this event has now been postponed to 2021 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
For the first time ever, it was going to have 12 hosts with the final being held in London. The 11 other hosts are Baku, St Petersburg, Bucharest, Budapest, Rome, Copenhagen, Bilbao, Munich, Glasgow, Dublin & Amsterdam.
As a Summer League challenge, we will collectively try to complete all of the distances it takes to get from London to all of the host venues within the original timeframe of the tournament, 12th June > 12th July.
Here are our X1 Teams and Euro 2020 Football hosts distances we will be looking to complete.
Mens 1s & Ladies 1s - Baku (3976km)
Mens 2s - St Petersburg (2102km)
Ladies 2s - Bucharest (2093km)
Mens 3 - Budapest (1451km)
Mens 4s - Rome (1434km)
Mens 5s - Copenhagen (957km)
Ladies 3s & 4s - Bilbao (942km)
Ladies 5s & 6s - Munich (919km)
U14s - Glasgow (556km)
U12s - Dublin (464km)
U10s - Amsterdam (348km)
First day we start tracking our activities is on Friday 12th June. The last day will be Sunday 12th July. We will be tracking in Kilometres.
Running, Cycling & Walking [this can involve dog walking, golf, mowing the lawn etc].
All team members will be tracking their activities via their personal tracking apps which will be uploading to team spreadsheet. We will be posting weekly updates across our social media channels.
At the moment we will be keeping this as club members first. Should we require further participants then, we will be asking some of the clubs family and supporters.
Good luck!
