Story
St Sampson's Church is in rural Cornwall. It is a beautiful place and off the beaten track. There is a lot of history connected with it including Bishop Trelawnys first parish and the high possibility of St Sampson founding a monastry here. Without help, our small but active congregation will not be able to maintain the fabric of the building.
The wider community value St Sampson's and have suggested over one hundred uses for it, but we need to make the building weather proof and fix the roof, the ceiling, the tower, the floor and most importantly install a toilet and kitchen so that everyone can fully use this amazing place.
We have now fixed the windows, the porch, external walls, restored 2 doors, completed some roof work, installed new efficient heating and have most permissions in place for the rest of the work. More work is scheduled to start soon.
We are busy fundraising with our CRUX team (cherished, restored, unlocked church) and applying for grant funding, most of which needs some match funding.
Any donations or fundraising activities will be warmly welcomed.
