This year is a special year for St Pauls Egham Hythe. We are celebrating 90 years since the completion of the church building and 100 years since worship began in the old Sunshine Hut!
When the church was built much of it was funded by the local community, families saving up to pay for a single brick. In fact, if your family has lived here for generations they likely helped to build St Pauls brick by brick!
Maybe you have attended a christening, wedding, or funeral? Perhaps you have popped in for a quiet moment or been part of a school concert, the Christmas Tree Festival, Harvest or Remembrance? Whatever your connection, the church offers a welcoming and inclusive, peaceful and hopeful presence at the heart of Egham Hythe.
But we need your help to continue to do this. The challenges of this last year have been significant, and not least with regard to our finances. It costs St Pauls over £8,000 a month just to break even, all of that money coming from donations. And times are tough.
But we have a plan! Just as those first pioneers enabled the church to be at the heart of this community nearly a century ago by buying a brick, were offering the opportunity for you to do the same.
At a time when so much of life and ministry has embraced the virtual world, and to mark our special anniversaries, we are selling virtual bricks!
Our target just to cover this years shortfall is £10,000. So that would be 500 bricks at £20 each. Would you be able to help us?
We are passionate about serving our community and the particular needs of our area. Whether you live locally, have a virtual or a historical connection, or would just like to help, then please consider supporting us.
Be part of St Pauls Living Stones.
Thank you. God bless.
