In Loving Memory Of Daphne Pullen OBE
On Sunday 20th June 2021 The St Georges Day Committee and friends will be walking from Berkhamsted Castle to Cassiobury Park to raise money in the memory of the much loved Daphne Pullen OBE.
Daphne sadly lost her battle against a brain tumor in January this year. Daphne was a former local lady who epitomised kindness, compassion and an ability to raise thousands of pounds for local and national charities. She was tireless in looking after others less fortunate than herself. Daphne was the Chairperson of the Samaritans and then Clic Sargent the childrens cancer charity. She was also the chair at the Watford YMCA before moving to Wiltshire and becoming involved with the Age UK Charity.
The family members and friends from St Georges felt it was important Daphne was remembered for all her hard work and efforts and thought by trying to raise money in her memory would be a fitting tribute to a wonderful lady.
So at 9am on the 20th June St Georges will be forming up at Berkhamsted Castle dressed as St George and hopefully with at least one dragon. We will walk the 11 miles to Cassiobury Park where we can collapse in a heap with friends and family. Please donate whatever you can for the old boys taking part and in memory of Daphne.
Thank you from all at St Georges
