Story
Our Journey So Far
South Cheshire Amateur Boxing Club volunteers have been helping the youth of Crewe for 11 years with huge success. We have made a real impact on the lives of many and have been recognised with prestigious awards along the way. We offer classes for everyone, from five-year-old mini-boxers and juniors to adults and key workers.
Were here for them whether they want to compete at national level or just keep fit. And we know we can do so much more.
South Cheshire ABC has won so many awards because we are more than a boxing club. The work our coaches do to support our boxers beyond boxing really makes a di! erence in their lives.
Now we need your help
Our gym is now far too small to accommodate all the boxing classes we o! er. With poor heating and damp conditions, it also lacks accessibility for many. To continue our vital and important work for local people, we aim to build a new gym at Mirion Street, Crewe, in partnership with Crewe Youth Club (CYC), a registered charity.
This is a hugely exciting project and is being supported by the Crewe Towns Board as well as many other organisations.
We have been working closely with the team from CYC and have together been awarded funding of £600,000 from the Crewe Towns Fund. Crewe Youth Club have also donated part of their land to the project with a value of circa £200,000.
This is the result of a lot of hard work from many people including the CYC Trustees, Doug Kinsman from the Crewe Town Board, Cheshire East team, On-Side Youth Zone and many others who we are extremely grateful to.
The initial £800,000 raised will give us a basic design, but we believe the youth of Crewe and the hard-working volunteers of SCABC can achieve so much more. We aim to raise a further £200,000 to give an ambitious total of £1m to build a superb boxing gym and facilities that will serve Crewe long into the future.
How you can help
Every penny counts and contributions in kind for building the new gym as well as cash donations are all really important to us.
