The Saccidananda Ashram, better known as Shantivanam is where Fr Bede lived for the last 25 years of his life. It is a community of monks, a farm, an ashram welcoming visitors from all over the world and a charity which helps the local communities.

BGCT helps by making grants to 4 Indian charities who run 9 projects around the Saccidananda Ashram the Trust has decided to support, concentrating on education, training, helping the elderly and the relief of need. Because we spend so little on admin 99% of income is available for grant-making.

The Trust has, from time to time, supported the Ashram with projects which help it to continue to thrive.
