Story
We want every child to feel comfortable and happy at school, and wear their uniform with pride and self-confidence.
However, the financial pressure of providing school uniform places a huge burden and stress on families and can often lead to ill fitting, worn, unclean or incorrect uniform and impact negatively on a child's mental health & wellbeing.
My oldest they sent her home and said she wasn’t allowed to come back until she had the correct shoes. So then I had to write a letter to say that we'll be able to get some in a week or so, I didn’t have any money." Parent.
The Child Poverty Action Group estimates the yearly cost of uniform, kit, shoes and bags for a primary school child can be around £352.86 and £481.77 for a secondary school child.
End Child Poverty has released data which estimates around 20.1% of children in the borough of Bromley are living in poverty (2021/22), that’s a whopping 6 children in a classroom of 30.
We provide all the necessary items of School Uniform and equipment, including blazers, shirts, trousers, skirts, shoes, PE kit, water bottles, bags, stationary and much more, to children who are referred to us by local professionals such as teachers, social workers, health visitors and refuge workers.
Your donation could make a real difference to a struggling family, and allow a child to go to school feeling comfortable, happy and confident.
Thank you so much for your support.
