This campaign is a grass-roots group of people of all ages, identities, occupations, backgrounds and viewpoints. All share a passion for the importance of keeping our local library in this perfect location - near the East of the Town, where there are high levels of need - and close to the Town Centre.
It is a beautiful building, successor to the first Free Library in the town.
Grace Hill houses a unique archive of local history documents and also provides a large exhibition space, meeting and training rooms, computer facilities as well as the main collection of books for loan.
The issue of maintenance has been known for some time - but not properly addressed. There has been no consultation with local people and no explanation why there is not a plan for Grace Hill to be properly looked after so that it can continue to serve everyone in our community now and in the future.
Join the campaign and donate any amount you can afford - it's appreciated!
The campaign fund and your donations will support information, leaflets, banners and other materials as we press for Kent County Council to review its decision to close the Library.
This fund is being managed by Sunflower House, a local community charity, on behalf of the Save Folkestone Library campaign.
When the campaign closes, any unspent funds will be used for the benefit of local community organisations.
