Story
Young people are facing a really tough time at the moment, with many unable to access their usual support.
Sam has encouraged Amy and Ben to raise money for local charity, Berkshire Youth, after being inspired by his chats with the charity's CEO. Sam and the Calco team are currently working hard to renovate the Waterside Centre in Newbury for Berkshire Youth. This will be a fantastic new youth and community centre which will provide a range of positive activities and sports for local young people to get involved with, including rock climbing, dancing and canoeing.
Berkshire Youth is a charity which supports, empowers and inspires young people to be the best that they can be. They encourage young people to take part in a range of positive activities which respond to the many issues facing young people today. These include obesity and poor diet, sedentary lifestyles, mental health issues, risk of exploitation and involvement in anti-social behaviour. Berkshire Youth work with young people to lift their aspirations, boost their self-esteem and inspire them to realise their full potential.
Much of Berkshire Youth's work is with young people who are vulnerable and disadvantaged, for whom daily life is full of challenges.
