Dear Supporters
There are many good causes to support, and we appreciate that times are tough for all of us at the moment, but if you can spare a donation or share this appeal it will make a huge difference. We could not have survived since 2012 without all of you, who believe in dignity, fair treatment and sanctuary.
We help people who are destitute, supporting them with legal advice towards their asylum case and hopefully giving them the chance to put a new claim to the Home Office and finally get justice, after years of trauma and hardship.
There are very few charitable organisations doing this type of work in the UK and were pretty unique in the South Yorkshire region. We are now needed more than ever.
We have kept going through Covid-19 working remotely with our clients - but see a storm coming. Eviction notices are now being served once more, with asylum seekers fearful of being put out on the streets or forcibly sent home.
It is harder than ever to find lawyers to take a tough case. Other charities cannot house refused asylum seekers indefinitely and need our help to move legal cases and peoples lives forward.
Like many other organisations, our ability to hold fundraising events has been curtailed. We are actively pursuing other fundraising avenues but ask for your help. Money raised in this appeal will go to core costs that are the hardest to fund - for our rent, bills, interpreters, expert reports and our tiny staff team.
