SWFT Charity's Young Minds Matter Appeal aims to equip MacGregor Children's Ward at Warwick Hospital with all-new facilities.

The plans include a new playroom, an adolescent recreational area and a sensory area, all of which will ensure a safe and engaging environment for our young patients. There are also plans for a bereavement suite/quiet room which will serve as a vital space for those unfortunately experiencing devastating news, and will also allow parents some respite from the busy ward.

The project was prompted by the increase in young mental health patients admitted to the ward since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic The redevelopment will give staff the tools and resources they require to support these patients, as well as creating age-appropriate areas for all children spending time on the ward.

To make the ward the best it can be, we are launching a £350,000 fundraising appeal. The money raised will go towards enhancements that the NHS are unable to provide, such as play equipment, specialist sensory equipment, enhanced décor and upgraded furnishings to make it a home-from-home.
