Story
This year we have been working harder than ever to ensure families living with terminal illness and bereavement continue to get the best possible care, comfort and support throughout COVID-19. We can only continue to care with the help of our community.
How your support will make a difference:
Philippa di Silvestro
It was the hardest part of our lives but that five weeks at Saint Michaels enabled us to have special time as a family. We felt very fortunate. Ivan used to say: Dont count the days make the days count and Saint Michaels helped us to do that. We even managed to go out for a meal together which I had never imagined would be possible.
Saint Michaels Hospice is a very special place for us. The care they gave Ivan in his last five weeks was fantastic and really took the pressure off; it let us be a family and make some very happy memories for this we will always be very grateful.
This festive season, we're asking YOU to show you Care for Christmas; hold a virtual office party, don a cosy Christmas jumper or donate in lieu of Christmas cards- it's up to you
£200 could help provide one-to-one, telephone-based support sessions for a family experiencing grief during coronavirus with one of our bereavement support specialists, as well as a comprehensive package of resources for the younger members of the family who may be struggling with bereavement or their emotional wellbeing during the pandemic.
A £120 donation could help a member of the outreach team to continue making home visits over the festive season, ensuring that our patients can spend Christmas at home surrounded by friends and family.
A £34 donation could help Saint Michael's to offer a specially prepared festive luncheon to a patient and their loved one spending Christmas day on our inpatient unit.
