Story
We at Sebastian's Action Trust are proud to say we are here for families of seriously-ill children- always. In these frightening times of a global Coronavirus pandemic, the families we support are some of the most vulnerable in society.
As key workers, our Family Support Workers are alleviating pressures on emergency healthcare givers and the NHS by delivering emergency practical support to families including the provision, every week, of vital supplies for those who cannot leave their homes even to obtain food, toiletries, nappies and other essentials. Families with children undergoing cancer treatment, organ transplant patients, those with respiratory conditions such as cystic fibrosis and others with compromised immune systems.
As a charity that does not receive a single penny of statutory funding, and as we cannot initiate our own fundraising efforts at this time, we are entirely dependent upon the generosity of our supporters to help us finance the emergency support we are delivering. Each emergency pack costs approximately £40 to give essential foodstuffs, toiletries and babycare products to a child, like Nancy (pictured above with the SAT emergency activity pack she received in hospital) and her family. Nancy has just left hospital following open heart surgery; it is absolutely vital that she and her family are shielded from this potentially fatal virus.
We support more than 600 families each and every day with emotional, social and practical support. We know that at these times everyone is affected but if you can give, your donation will help us to keep children like Nancy and her family safe and nourished.
