The John Heinrichs Scholarly and Creative Activity Days (SACAD) event started in 2005 and is held every year in April to celebrate the scholarly, research, and creative activities of Fort Hays State University students, staff, and faculty. SACAD is named in honor of the late Dr. John F. Heinrichs (1957-2014) who was a key supporter of faculty and student research collaborations.

Currently organized by the Scholarship Environment Committee and Office of Scholarship and Sponsored Projects, SACAD provides an excellent platform to showcase and celebrate scholarly and creative endeavors using a variety of options for presentation formats. The event is free and open to the public with a goal to encourage collaboration between FHSU and our local community.

In 2022, the first ever hybrid format of SACAD took place. This format enhanced opportunities for both on-campus and FHSU online students, staff, and faculty to be connected in the celebration of scholarly and creative activities. Our goal is to continue to support a hybrid blend of presentations and exhibitions. Your contribution will enhance this work by providing support for event needs, such as our online event site platform as well as event awards designed to recognize the outstanding efforts of our FHSU students, staff, and faculty.
