Help Build a Future for Our Community

Our community is growing—but our space hasn’t.

What was once a small gathering place has now become the heart of a thriving, diverse community. Children, youth, elders, and families come together daily in search of education, support and connection. Yet, we’ve outgrown our current space, limiting the impact we can make.

Now, we have the chance to build a purpose-driven community centre—a self-sustaining hub that will nurture faith, foster unity, and serve everyone, regardless of background.

This May Bank Holiday weekend, a group of determined but inexperienced cyclists will embark on a gruelling challenge—riding 350 miles across four countries in just four days—all to raise much-needed funds for a new community centre.

The Challenge:

Departing: Friday 2nd May at 9:30 AM – Come see us off from our start point at Maidenhead Jamia Masjid (SL6 8AW)

🇬🇧 Day 1: Conquering England’s hills

🇫🇷 Day 2: Pushing through the roads of France

🇧🇪 Day 3: Battling Belgium’s tough terrain

🇳🇱 Day 4: The final push to the Netherlands

We’re not professional cyclists—we’re a group of everyday people pushing our limits for a cause that truly matters. Long days, aching legs, exhaustion—it’ll be tough, but nothing compared to the struggles our community faces without a proper space to grow.

Why Are We Doing This?

Our community has outgrown its current space. We need a modern, self-sustaining hub—a place where:

• Children thrive and youth find mentorship & purpose

• After-school tutoring & homework clubs

• Mental health support groups counselling services

• Youth clubs & leadership programs

• Interfaith & community dialogue events and cohesion projects

• Cultural festivals & heritage days

• Marriage & family guidance services

• A shop & café – Selling food, books and gifts

• Charity fundraising initiatives

• Elders have a welcoming space to connect and combat loneliness (coffee mornings)

• Promote healthy living for all ages

• Vulnerable families receive vital support

• Education & career workshops to uplift our community’s future

• Food banks & social services to care for the most vulnerable

• A library & study hub for knowledge seekers

• Funeral & burial services to support families in their most difficult times

Your support will help create a place where:

• Youth find guidance.

• Families grow stronger.

• The community finds support.

• The wider community benefits from our shared values.

This isn’t just a building—it’s a legacy for future generations.

The Vision:

Our goal is to establish a centre that reflects the needs of today’s community—modern, inclusive, and built on our shared principles of compassion, learning, and service.

This will be more than a community centre—it will be a beacon of support, education, and well-being.

How You Can Help:

Every mile we ride, every hill we climb, brings us closer to making this vision a reality. We need your support!

💙 Donate today and help us build a centre that will serve thousands for years to come!

📢 Your generosity fuels our journey—let’s ride for a cause that truly matters!

Come see us off on Friday, 2nd May at 9:30 AM from Maidenhead Jamia Masjid (SL6 8AW) and be part of this incredible journey from the very start!

Maidenhead Mosque has a very rich history. The first purpose built mosque in Berkshire, it has evolved to become a focal point for the community. The Mosque has gone through a number of stages of development and progress. The building has become an attractive landmark of our Royal Borough and is well-known to all muslim and non muslim, with a very proud history. Serving the community, the mosque has developed over the years catering for all people by providing vital services and assistance. With recent developments, the services being offered have increased; a recent renovation means that the Masjid accommodates more people than ever, with a modern wudhu (ablution) facility catering for men and women and the acquirement of he old CAB building next door to use for classes, meetings, seminars and various events. We inspire to provide a range of holistic, culturally sensitive services for the community of Maidenhead, drawing on our Islamic values and heritage, with a view to improving quality of life and enhancing cohesion. Our aims are to: Focus on the needs of the diverse Muslim community whilst ensuring services are open to all. Meet the needs of the local community by promoting health, education and employment opportunities. Provide an opportunity to learn and understand Islam, through dialogue, discussion and social interaction.
