Story
With a 40 acre site, we need to keep a constant eye on the perimeter fencing which keeps the animals safe. It would be a mammoth task to replace it all in one go, but occasionally there are large sections that need to be repaired or replaced at once. And one of those times is now. Perhaps it was the extreme heat of the summer combined with the extreme wet we're experiencing now but either way, it's no longer strong and secure in many areas.
We had our fencing changed from wire to post and rail around 15 years ago, but are now finding its lifespan is at an end and starting to deteriorate quite badly.
With the rising costs in energy and food, we are feeling the hit as much as anyone and we could really use your help right now. Please donate whatever you can, as every penny really does help, but if you can buy a metre of fencing for £40 it would be very much appreciated!
The price of timber continues to be extortionate, so £40 per metre includes the cost of the materials, concrete and labour.
The gallery includes many of our wonderful animals ably demonstrating all of the fencing around the Sanctuary.
