Run/walk 155km during the month of March!

This year we have signed up again to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society by holding the Relay For Life TU Dublin Challenge of running/walking 155km throughout the month of March and hosting a one-day Festival Event on Friday 1st of April in Grangegorman Campus, behind St Laurences Church from 14:00 - 22:00, while at the same time raising CANCER awareness. We have all been touched by cancer in some way, and this event gives a community like TU Dublin the opportunity to FIGHT BACK!

CANCER will affect 1 in 3 people in Ireland during their lifetime. Unfortunately, this statistic is only rising. WE HAVE TO FIGHT BACK! All the funds raised through sponsorship and fundraising will go to support the Irish Cancer Society's national services and mission to achieve world-class cancer services, working towards fewer people getting CANCER and that those that do- have better outcomes and improved treatment. FIGHT BACK!

One Day Festival Event

The event focuses on a set walking route where team members take turns walking around the route to symbolise the ongoing fight against cancer for the duration of the event, hence the "Relay" part of the event to raise funds.

While that is happening, a festival of fun and entertainment will be taking place uniting our community in the fight against cancer. We have food trucks, live music, comedy sessions, music, yoga, alternative entertainment - drink tea & draw, spot prizes and lots more. It's a great chance to hang out with your team of colleagues and friends and catch up with everyone while giving back and raising funds.

Candle of Hope

Candle of Hope bags - As part of Relay For Life, everyone is invited to dedicate a Candle of Hope to someone they know who has been touched by cancer. These candles will then be lit and dedicated at a special Candle of Hope Ceremony which will take place on April 1st. Candle of Hope Bags are €5, please submit name and short message here

The main event is the Candle of Hope ceremony is held at dusk at 20:15 where the track is lit by candle bags that have been dedicated to those lost to cancer and those fighting the disease. Participants walk the track together, finishing up at the stage where the Chaplaincy service remember those lost to cancer, celebrate those who've survived and those fighting cancer in a moving ceremony.

Candle of Hope Ceremony, Friday April 1st @ 20:15.
