Cameron Reese Ward June 15, 1990 - December 29, 2022
Cameron Reese Ward passed away on December 29th, 2022 after a hard fought battle with melanoma. Loving son to Kyle Ward and Carol Ward, Reese grew up in Cary, North Carolina alongside his younger sister, Ashley Logan Ward. He went to Weatherstone Elementary and West Cary Middle and then attended Cary Christian School from grades 9-12 where he graduated from high school in 2008. He went on to study at NC State University and then earned his Associate Degree in Construction Management at Wake Community College. He was a General Contractor and worked with Wardson Construction Inc. alongside his father and uncle and went on to have his own building company, Cameron Custom Homes, LLC.
Reese will forever be remembered as a fun-loving, humorous, and confident young man. He was an example to everyone who knew him for kindness, gentleness, and compassion and he was fiercely loyal with his family and friends. He had a strong sense of right and wrong, and wasnt afraid to make a stand for what he believed in. Reese always tried to see the best in everyone.
In 2015, he met his wife, Michelle Christina Turner. It was later in 2016 that they began dating, and he asked her to be his wife on a trip in the summer of 2018 while on a picturesque hike in Charlottesville. On November 16th, 2019, Reese married the love of his life, Michelle Christina Turner. It was a beautiful celebration with their families and friends. Reese said that was the happiest day of his life.
They were married just over one year when he was diagnosed with melanoma. Reese was strong in his battle and always held onto hope, and faith in the Lord, even though he was in so much pain. Reese is no longer in pain, and this is something that gives his family and friends peace to know he is in heaven with God and our family members that preceded him into the Lords kingdom.
To honor Reese and help the countless patients and their families battling melanoma, a fund has been created at the Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) in Reeses honor to support melanoma research, fund the life-saving treatments that could help others and honor Reeses legacy. While research has come a long way over the last 25 years, much remains to be done to eradicate this disease.
