Race for the Rainforest is even BIGGER and now YOU can get involved too! Take on the challenge and run, hop, skip and jump your way to protecting precious rainforest in Borneo!

UPDATE 19/03/2021

This weekend would have marked the end of the grueling journey for our Race for the Rainforest runners, as they charge through the finishing tape of the Borneo Ultratrail Marathon .

But no one could have foreseen the events of the last 12 months, and what they would mean for the world we live in.

As travel restrictions mean Borneo is not an option this year, our dedicated team are focusing on pushing themselves to the limit in some of the most challenging Ultramarathons here in the UK, so they can continue to raise funds to create thriving rainforest habitat where wildlife can flourish.

And this Summer, YOU can get involved too. We'll be creating lots of resources to help our amazing community of supporters to Race for the Rainforest and prevent extinction in Borneo! Keep checking out the Chester Zoo website for hints, tips and ways to get involved.

The Covid-19 pandemic has thrown a spotlight on the intrinsic connection between how humans and the natural world intertwine. It has focused our minds and our precious resources on what really matters. Conservation simply cannot wait. The time for action, is now.

We are a group of business leaders in the North West who want to do our part in preventing extinction.

We are running the Borneo Ultra-Trail Marathon in March 2021 and raising funds for Chester Zoo's vital conservation work in Borneo. This is a gruelling race through rainforest, over mountains, across rivers, and under a blanket of 30 degree heat and humidity.

Why take on such an epic challenge? Because we will not stand by and watch some of the richest rainforest in the world disappear forever. We aim to raise £50,000 to support Chester Zoo's work protecting rainforest in Borneo. Their activities range from tree-planting, wildlife monitoring and research, to managing forest fires, and each facet of this work contributes to a healthy, thriving rainforest habitat where wildlife can flourish.

So we're taking on the BUTM. Time is running out for this irreplaceable resource. We need to act fast if we are to ensure that the incredible wildlife that call Borneo home aren't going to disappear forever.
