Story
The last year has certainly been a testing time for us all and the pandemic looks like it will continue to affect our lives for some time to come.
RBF have been here to support the Railway Family during these difficult times and will continue to do so through the uncertainties ahead. We have seen a huge increase in the demand for our services, particularly at the beginning of this year as we cope with our third lockdown.
With many of our colleagues in the Rail Industry still experiencing changes in working patterns and pay, some are struggling to cover the basic costs of living and are finding themselves in extremely difficult financial situations. With further shielding restrictions and many with children home schooling during lockdown, it continues to be a stressful time with many financial pressures.
RBF is the charity they turn to and we will ensure no family in the Rail Industry who needs our help is left unheard.
We have considerably increased our grants available to provide financial help to those of you who need it and we have created a Home Schooling Fund - but demand is high - we need your support so we can continue to help the Railway Family.
The pressure I was putting on myself to ensure I was continuing to do a good job at work and for the children to meet all of their school and college requirements on a daily basis was causing a lot of stress and worry. I reached out to the Railway Benefit Fund for help. I cant tell you how much relief it was to receive the help for my boys." Home Schooling Fund Beneficiary
Times are still really tough for everybody - our rail workers continue to keep Britain moving during the crisis - we need your support to help all those in need." Pete Waterman, President of RBF
Our funding depends on your generosity. The charity relies solely on the donations and fundraising of its loyal supporters and now, more than ever, we need your help. A gift from you will make an incredible difference to those who need us at this difficult time." Tim Shoveller, Managing Director North West and Central, Network Rail and RBF Chairman
