Story
Students need to put their studies first. Unfortunately, financial worries sometimes get in the way. The challenges presented by the pandemic have seen many more students struggling financially. Some have had to endure periods of self-isolation in a new environment. Many who combine degrees with part-time working have lost their jobs. Others have been unable to return home during lockdowns and incurred additional rental and living costs as a result. The Student Welfare Fund can provide help and support for all students when life gets tough. Students have received food vouchers, money to keep a roof over their heads and pay the bills and given access to loan equipment for those struggling to keep up with studies because of poor IT. This valuable fund has never been more important. You can support this fund here and make a real difference today.
Receiving this money felt like having a huge weight lifted from my shoulders. I could stop worrying about paying my rent and could concentrate again on my studies."
Student services manager, James Campbell, says
The Student Welfare Fund can be a lifeline for an Abertay University student. Since the pandemic started, we have seen a rise in demand for food vouchers, help with rental and living costs along with access to computing hardware. You can donate directly to the fund knowing that it helps our students when they need it most."
