The Phoenix Residence provides essential services to adults living with disabilities that enable them to thrive in their own homes. With the help of our 230 skilled and caring Direct Support Professionals, we serve 300 adults in Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, and Washington counties.
Our Close the Gap initiative is about recognizing the enormous contributions and value that Direct Support Professionals bring to the lives of people with disabilities. We are facing two serious challenges to the services we provide:
1) Ongoing changes to the Medicaid funding system that supports the wages we can pay
2) A serious workforce shortage which threatens staffing levels and our ability to keep and attract a skilled, caring, and talented workforce
These factors are threatening our ability to attract, train, and retain skilled and caring Direct Support Professionalsthose who are at the heart of carrying out our mission to provide a caring, person-centered environment for those we serve.

For about the cost of a daily cup of coffee, your modest gift can help The Phoenix Residence invest in our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) by providing them a competitive wage and benefits. They work hard each day to provide person-centered care for someone's parent, sibling, or child.
A gift of $13 is equal to one (1) hour of Direct Support Professional services
A gift of $26 is equal to two (2) hours of Direct Support Professional services
A gift of $39 is equal to three (3) hours of Direct Support Professional services
A gift of $104 is equal to eight (8) hours of Direct Support Professional services
