Pathblane - helping your active travel and recreation

We need to pay for repairs done in the past few weeks to the central paths in the village. As well as a £3000 Paths For All grant, we need £2600. Paths require ongoing maintenance, so any surplus or future donations will go in the path-work kitty.

Story

Last summer a couple of cloudbursts badly damaged the Gary Wright Way (GWW) in the village, and the area around the stone gateway to the football field. The SCDT Paths group has repaired the undermined bit of the GWW, and put in a temporary drainage system to prevent further damage but there's a limit to what enthusiastic amateurs can do. To install drainage at these two sites, repair path surfaces, and futureproof them, we have called in professionals, and that costs money. We raised a grant for more than half the costs but it would be great if local people and paths-users take ownership of this problem, and chip in where they can. A few quid here and there from some of the hundreds of path users - dog-walkers, cyclists, horse-riders, runners and the rest - should easily see us to this target. Thank you for your donation!

About the charity

SCDT is an entirely voluntary organisation that encourages working groups to take on projects that benefit our community of Strathblane, Blanefield and Mugdock. Some of these are the Thomas Graham Library group, Paths Group, Wildlife Sanctuary , Allotments and Campsie Crooners.
