Papplewick Pumping Station

We are an independent museum and charity and considered the most complete pumping station in the country. It is a difficult site to maintain and rising inflation makes this task all the more difficult. Can you help us in our task?

Story

Papplewick is regarded by Historic England as the most complete pumping station in the country retaining all its original steam plant, buildings, grounds and underground reservoir. As an independent museum, we are reliant upon visitors to our steam events, wedding bookings, private hires and donations to generate the income needed to maintain the pumping station to the required standard for a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

We know these are difficult times financially but if you're able to make a donation, no matter how small, you will be contributing to the long-term survival of this highly important industrial heritage site for future generations to enjoy. All donations received go towards maintaining the infrastructure and are not used for any other purpose.

We thank you in anticipation of your support.

PS: If possible, please Gift Aid your donation - the government will contribute an additional 25p for every £1 you donate to us. Thank you!
