PAMIS COVID-19 Continuity Appeal

Much of our income, from our PAMIS breaks, training and mobile changing places toilet- the Pamiloo, has disappeared. We have to be honest and admit we are going to struggle during this difficult time, without the generosity of people like you.

Story

Profound means deep, it means wise and it means expert people with profound learning and multiple disabilities (PMLD) are some of the best teachers we have, particularly about how to work together. We hope that in these difficult times we can work together locally and nationally to overcome serious, and in reality life threatening, issues.

The team at PAMIS are working hard to support those with PMLD, their families and carers, we are now doing this remotely and virtually. We are busy supporting development of PAMIS Digital Passports, our multimedia flick through e-book, which gives a voice to the individual with PMLD and provides a more coordinated approach to care. This is an essential resource during this uncertain and difficult time as it will enable unfamiliar carers who may be required at short notice, to engage and understand the specific needs of the person that is being cared for.

Support services are now being run over the phone and online to ensure we are still available for those who need us. We are running a full programme of online activities for people with PMLD and their carers to support health and wellbeing while in isolation. We are in constant contact with the Scottish Government where we are raising the concerns of our families, supporting solutions and ensuring that the needs of people with PMLD are taken into account for COVID-19 planning and policy decisions.

You can help us to ensure that we are there for those with PMLD, their families and carers at this stressful and frightening time, and into the future.

Like many other organisations, much of our income, from our PAMIS breaks, training programme and mobile changing places toilet- the pamiloo, has disappeared, We have to be honest and admit we are going to struggle during this difficult time, without the generosity of people like you. With this in mind we have set up a JustGiving page to try to raise some funds to help keep our vital services going. If you are able to make a donation, however small, it would be most gratefully received.

We understand economically this is a hard time for all and if you dont feel that you can donate, you can still support us by sharing this campaign link with your network and our social media posts.

Thank you for making a difference and supporting PAMIS and people with PMLD and their families.

Best Wishes
