Story
People's Trust for Endangered Species is working really hard to protect wild animals. You can help too by raising funds for PTES, which we'll use to protect species that are endangered in the UK and overseas. And you'll also be spreading awareness as the same time, so more people look out for wildlife - amazing!
The PTES Junior Challenge is a challenge that any junior wildlife lover can undertake. No matter what your age or ability, you can take part in this challenge. You can do it alone, or with your friends as a team! You could do something that you're really good at, or learn a new skill. You can really do anything you like (as long as it's safe), be outside in nature, or in the comfort of your own home. Pick a challenge below or surprise us with one you've thought of yourself!
Sprint like a mountain hare: mountain hares dart uphill for 50m very fast if they sense danger. How many times can you sprint uphill really fast?
Long-distance hedgehog race: hedgehogs travel about a mile at night looking for food. Can you walk/run a mile every day for a week? Or do a virtual long distance race?
The water vole challenge: water voles can eat 80% of their bodyweight in a day. They mainly eat grasses and rushes. Of course, don't attempt to eat 80% of your bodyweight in grass, but can you eat only plant-based food for a week?
The dormouse challenge: dormice hibernate for months in winter. And although they snore, they're very, very quiet! How long can you stay as quiet as a dormouse for?
Once you've decided on your event, set up a fundraiser by clicking on the orange Start Fundraising button on the right hand side. Thank you, every donation, big (as an elephant) and small (as a dormouse) will help protect endangered species. Good luck!
