Story

Our fantastic volunteers Wendy and Gill invited their Nottingham Group to participate in the PBC Smartie Challenge. They wanted raise awareness of PBC (Primary Bilary Cholangistis) which is an autoimmune condition that causes the progressive destruction of the liver. A PBC sufferers immune system attacks the cells lining the bile ducts within the liver, which results in poor drainage of bile acids and may lead to advanced scarring known as cirrhosis. In addition to the debilitating physical symptoms, quality of life can deteriorate dramatically. There is currently no known cause or cure for PBC.

So far they have raised over £200 and its rising. They would like to invite the world to take part in their challenge, hopefully you will join them and make a difference to the people who suffer from this debilitating illness.
