Outpatients Garden - Grantham Hospital

Our first completed garden is outside Ward 6 and we are now raising funds for our second garden! The existing area is overgrown with conifers surrounded by uneven slabs. Our new scented Mediterranean garden will make a lovely outside waiting room

Story

This garden is adjacent to Outpatients. Already the wonderful reception staff and nurses have raised over £1000 towards this garden and have all the details of this new garden design on display in reception. The existing garden is small, completely overgrown with conifers, with uneven slabs all round, so a complete disaster for anyone wanting to walk round. The intimate space however lends itself to a lovely mediterranean setting with lots of seating for patients to sit in whilst waiting for their appointment. The new design makes sure the paths are wide enough for wheelchairs, without dominating the space with paving. To make this garden sustainable the planting will be all in gravel which acts as a mulch keeping weeds down and helps reduce water loss.
