Story
The Madressa staff in years 5 and 6 have launched a sponsored walk-a-thon in aid of orphans in Najaf being supported by The World Federation Aid.
All students were provided with a sponsor form to complete and return with their collected monies by Sunday 5 February 2023 and they will then undertake a walk at Madressa on that Sunday as well. The JustGiving page is an alternative method of collecting funds and information regarding the project can be found below. We thank you for your generous donations.
Dar Al Zahra in Najaf, Iraq is a school for orphan students who come from very disturbed and distressed conditions. The aim of the institution is to prepare these underprivileged orphan students to prepare for a successful future. This institute has been serving both the students and the community of Najaf and continues to build a legacy of serving orphan students in Najaf for 15 years and counting.
These students have no exposure to quality education, development, and mental stimulation before they enter an institution, this project would help them to explore their creativity, vocabulary, and love for learning and address their emotional trauma and grief.
WF-AID want to sponsor classrooms in the school with sensory equipment or tools to create a safe space for the orphans to share their struggles, trauma and start a healing process with supervision from the dedicated sensory teachers. Your help will go miles in the upbringing of a stronger future for the orphans in Iraq.
We believe every young child should have access to food, healthcare, education, shelter, and emotional support. However, there are many children in communities around the world who do not even have these basic necessities.
