#OneBrum - Helping combat COVID within Brum.

Brum, we need your support now, more than ever!

We would like to share with you some news about the changes we are making to the way LoveBrum operates during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the heart of LoveBrum is our monthly funding of local grassroots causes, which supports hidden gem projects right across our city, and showcases the fantastic work that amazing people undertake every day all helping to make Birmingham an even better place. Sadly, due to the unprecedented times we find ourselves in, we have made the decision to temporarily pause our funding rounds. This decision was not taken lightly, and many factors were taken in to consideration. These funds will remain ring-fenced for future funding once we are back up and running at full speed.

That being said, we are delighted and excited to be able to tell you about a brand new initiative that we are launching, centered around uniting Birmingham at this critical time, and fundraising specifically for causes who are continuing to deliver great work to help our city during the pandemic. This will replace our usual rounds of funding for the next few months, as we unite Birmingham to come together and support each other during COVID crisis.  We have already identified a handful of causes that your fundraising will support initially, and will tell you all about the great work happening right across Birmingham very soon.

The campaign, #OneBrum will not only be raising money to help our charity survive these tough times, and also financially support local causes who are delivering specific COVID-related initiatives.  We will also be organising a whole host of virtual events and activities to keep the city entertained and moving over the next few months.

We will be asking everyone in Birmingham to come together as #OneBrum, and to do two things; donate just one pound to support the work happening right now in Birmingham to support our communities, and do one thing locally to help, whether that's phoning someone in isolation, or a shopping drop for a local vulnerable person.  Of course, there will also be the opportunity to come together at one of our online events too, raise money for LoveBrum, and have some fun!

Finally, we want to say a big thank-you to all the messages of support and offers of help we have received over recent days. It is much appreciated. Please do keep in touch, let us know about your ideas and how we can all help Birmingham get through these tough times together, as #OneBrum.

All Saints Youth Project

For over 20 years, All Saints has been a charity providing holistic support to young people & their families.

Their aim is to enhance the lives of young people and grow their social and personal development. Many of the young people and young adults that they cater for have complex conditions including Downs syndrome, Asperger syndrome and ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and mental health issues. Others face behaviour and anger issues, are victims of bullying and/or abuse, being involved in antisocial behaviour, drug and alcohol misuse and crime or on the edge of crime. They also have young people who have the responsibility of being a young carer or are in care.

Beyond The Horizon

Previously funded LoveBrum charity, Beyond the Horizon charity helps children, young people and families who have been affected by loss, bereavement, divorce or separation; working through their challenges to achieve hope for a healthy future and emotional wellbeing.

Support for the children and families, is vital at this time and they are working to supply their services online. Beyond the Horizon need our help to raise funds, helping to update their IT services and print resources for their users.

Colebridge Trust

Colebridge Trust works to improve opportunities for local people in Chelmsley Wood and the surrounding area, by creating meaningful work experience opportunities

The Colebridge Trust has been operating as a charity for 15 years. They have been successfully working with individuals during this time who are perceived as being the furthest from employment, including learning disabled, over 50s, those with physical disabilities and mental health issues, lone parents and young people with poor attainment.

Funding from OneBrum will enable Colebridge Trust to support more people to improve health and wellbeing, get into work or live more inclusive lives.
