Story

Every young person deserves the chance to reach their potential.

For 150 years Nottinghamshire YMCA has provided vital accommodation and support for vulnerable young people. Our homes aren't just a place to stay, they're a safe space to develop the skills and confidence needed for independent living.

Due to COVID-19 closures, we're facing a number of challenges, but our hostels and supported homes are still open. We're working hard to keep those in our care safe and well.

How does my donation help?

Your donation will support one of the many family of services for young people, vulnerable adults and families our charity delivers in the community, such as:

- 24/7 supported hostels for homeless or vulnerable young people in Nottingham, Mansfield, Worksop and Goole

- Transitional homes: a type of supported accommodation that serves as a bridge for residents who do not need emergency housing, but still benefit from YMCA guidance and support as they move on to independent living

- Dedicated, qualified support teams for all residents

- Individual progression plans, and on-site learning opportunities, created to help our residents build life skills and confidence

- Arts, engagement, youth work and enrichment projects

THANK YOU!

We've had a number of donations made offline/via other fundraising platforms that aren't listed here, so a BIG thank you to:

- Jaymee, who raised £260 to buy food for our Shakespeare Street Hostel

- Our 1871CrossFit Members who raised £451.39 as part of the local box fundraiser!

- The incredibly generous YMCA Gym members who have chosen to donate their membership fees to the charity while the gym is closed - this has raised £570 so far!

- Joel Evans who is doing a 50 day running challenge and has raised over £700 so far

Can I donate items?

Yes! Our charity has a number of essential items we're looking for to best support the wellbeing of our residents as they practice social distancing. You can gift us any of these through our Amazon Charity Wishlists for Nottingham , Mansfield , Worksop and Goole .
