Story
The Future of Africa (FOA) student organization at Carthage supports the international initiative of improving the educational environment for students' in Eshowe, South Africa. Over the past four years, students raised approximately $40,000 to improve the physical facilities and provide classroom equipment and supplies for more than 600 South African children who attend Nkume Primary School.
As a service learning project that promotes sustainable development within communities, Carthage students engage in committed fundraising initiatives to address the unmet school needs related to their majors in poverty, health care, environment, education, and more. Future of Africa has ongoing communication with Nkume Primary School personnel to promote sustainable change, not charity.
Over the next year, we aim to raise $30,000 to build a new school hall for Nkume Primary students to gather collectively for community events. This Giving Tuesday, we ask for your support to help us raise the first $10,000 of this goal. Together, we can make a difference for the students of Eshowe, South Africa.
