Living in darkness after the sun sets is the reality for nearly 600 million people in sub-Saharan Africa lacking access to electricity. To escape the darkness, families have no choice but to rely on poor alternatives to lighting such as toxic kerosene lamps or dangerous candles. These are damaging for both people and the planet.
On 18th November 2021, we are challenging everyone to go for one night without using electricity. That means no light, no internet, no phone and no TV!
With your help, we can continue to provide solar powered light for millions of people in sub-Saharan Africa.
