From Anthony Caruso, Jr., PhD; President, Carbro Constructors:
My family and I experienced, firsthand, how incredible the doctors, nurses and facilities are at Sams NICU. Our daughter Ella was born three months early at 28 weeks, 2 days by emergency C-section at Morristown Medical Center. A neonatologist was present in the delivery room to immediately begin assessing and attending to Ella, who upon birth weighed just 2 lbs., 10 oz. and was 15 inches long. Within minutes, she was inside an incubator and on her way up to the NICU. This would be the first of 87 days that Ella would spend in the NICU. She was placed on breathing support, had a nasogastric tube inserted for feeding and had her vitals monitored continuously. Ella was diagnosed with pulmonary dysplasia, intraventricular hemorrhage in her brain and had a collapsed lung. As a parent it was unbelievably difficult to receive these diagnoses and the potential outcomes; however, we always knew that being at Goryeb Children's Hospital would ensure Ella received the best care possible. By God's grace and through the precise care of the amazing neonatologists, specialists, therapists and nurses at the NICU, Ella is happy, healthy and thriving.
For this reason, Carbro, C&H Agency and Trif & Modugno ask for your assistance in supporting the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program at Sam's NICU to train the next generation of pediatric sub-specialists to care for the youngest and most vulnerable patients. Please help us meet our match!
