Story
FOA Board member Julie Banzhaf-Stone and her husband, Steve Stone have committed to a 1:1 match on all donations for the next week until we reach $25,000! By making a donation, you can help us reach our goal of raising $50,000 for Acadia by #GivingTueday on December 1.
When we asked Julie what Acadia means to her, she said, "During these fraught times, the park is a place of grounding and restoration for me, my family, and friends. I am so thankful we all have Acadia and other conserved lands to stretch our legs and calm our minds. Acadia is truly our heart place." We hope you'll join Julie and Steve in celebrating your memories made in Acadia by making a gift to help preserve and protect the park now and for generations to come.
We want to know why Acadia is special to you! Besides donating to the matching challenge, we hope you'll share your story (and photos) of love, solace, peace, inspiration, and joy experienced in Acadia by using #MyAcadiaStory on social media. For the next week, we'll share some of our favorite stories from you on Instagram and Facebook. Don't have a public social media account? Email your photos and stories to Julia@FriendsofAcadia.org.
Up for a challenge?
You can help us meet our goal by creating your own customizable fundraising page featuring your story and photos. Challenge friends and fellow Acadia lovers to help you raise critical funds for the park! click the orange "Start Fundraising" button on the right side of this page to get started.
If ever there has been a time to draw from the Acadia region's peaceful grandeur, it is now. If you have felt a bit disconnected from this place because an in-person visit was not in the cards this year know that you aren't alone. Many members have reached out to tell us how much they miss this special place. We hope you will take comfort in knowing Acadia will be here when you are ready to return.
Thank you for all you do for Friends of Acadia, our beautiful park, and the health of our community and environment.
