Story
Please support our Christmas Appeal to complete an all-weather sand school and build a brighter future for our ex-racehorses. The Racehorse Sanctuary & Rehoming Centre desperately needs an all-weather sand school, so we can rehabilitate more ex-racehorses. Thoroughbreds are so trainable and can be amazing in their new roles after retiring from racing. They just need time and support in adjusting to their new life before going on to a loving home and new career.
Being able to ride safely all year round in an enclosed area will be invaluable for our team in helping every horse in our care achieve their full potential. The sand school will also give prospective keepers more opportunities to spend time with their matched riding companion to ensure theyll have a long and happy life together. At Mulsey Farm we are able to ride around the fields weather permitting due to being on clay making riding very difficult during the winter months .We also have a horse walker, courtesy of the Peter OSullevan Charitable Trust. However, an all-weather sand school, would make an enormous difference to our efforts to re-home ridden horses.
With your help we can build on this years success. This year we have successfully rehomed seven horses: two companion horses and five ridden horses, who are enjoying their new lives immensely. Two of our former racehorses have also found valuable new roles in the world of Equine Assisted Therapy and Learning, which transforms the lives of both humans and horses. With their sensitive and intelligent nature, thoroughbreds are eminently suitable for therapeutic and educational activities, and an all-weather sand school would allow us to develop this inspiring work. With your help, we will.
Please contribute to our appeal this Christmas. If you can contribute to The Centre's all-weather sand school fund, we would be absolutely thrilled. Every donation, whether £5, £10 or any amount of your choice will quickly add up and mean so much to us and the horses. We have planning permission for the sand school and would love to install it in the spring. All we need now is the money to make it happen. So, if you can, please help us with a donation today. Thank you.
Thank you to Emma Hughes for the photography and Spriggs Florist of Petworth for the festive wreath.
