Story
The Wansbeck Valley Foodbank increasingly has empty shelves. As the cost of food rises, and the pressure on everyone's budgets increases, less and less food is given by supermarkets, groups and individuals, and the Foodbank has to spend more and more to support the 150 or so families per week who rely on it. At present Wansbeck Valley Foodbank needs to spend an average of £2000 - £3000 per week buying food in to distribute to local families in desperate need. A recent spend of £5000 on essentials lasted only a few days. Without Wansbeck Foodbank some local families have literally nothing to eat. Morpeth Lions are fundraising to fill the shelves. Lion President Peter Crook has presented the Foodbank with an initial cheque of £1000 from Morpeth Lion charity funds. Please can you help increase this amount by donating whatever you can afford so local people don't go hungry.
