With COVID-19 disproportionately affecting families in the Bronx, unemployment and poverty are accelerating faster in the neighborhoods that Montefiore serves. When a child receives healthcare at Montefiore, The Division of Academic General Pediatrics assesses the entire family environment as a way to ensure excellent health outcomes.
During this pandemic, The Division of Academic General Pediatrics has seen previously stable families struggle due the ripple effects of COVID-19: job loss, food insecurity, and illness. Families who were already stressed about meeting basic needs are now experiencing greater levels of stress. The pandemic is also disproportionately affecting people of color and immigrants - populations that are higher in the Bronx than other areas of New York City.
When a family is in need, The Division of Academic General Pediatrics has answered the call - and today we hope that you will too. Montefiore pediatricians are asking that you support this campaign by providing funds to purchase the essential below items which we will then distribute to our families:
· Pack N' Plays (for families who do not have cribs)
· Winter clothes for children of all ages (infants to adolescents)
· Diapers
· Wipes
· Thermometers
· Home blood pressure monitors
· Digital bathroom scales
· Baby scales
· Breast pumps
· Bottles
· Infant formula
· baby foods and infant cereal
· Toiletries (e.g. tooth paste, tooth brushes, bath soap, deodorant, shampoo, lotion, feminine hygiene products, or cleaning supplies)

If you would like to make a gift via a check or would like to make a donation of any of the items listed above, please contact Julia Isenberg, Major Gift Officer, Pediatrics at 203.687.6660 or email jisenberg@montefiore.org.
